History

Sam Brannan, attracted by the thermal hot springs and bucolic settings of the upper Napa Valley, founded the town of Calistoga in 1859 to build the "Saratoga of California." In 1874 he deeded land at the intersection of Washington and Berry Street — the "heart" of Calistoga — for what would later become a church.

After 150 years, Calistoga has evolved into a destination for the arts, fine wine and dining, and health and wellness. Brannan Center will underscore the values of the town, contributing to its already vibrant and diverse arts and culture scene.
